How to Choose Party Games

So what kids don't love to compete with one another. Any successful party typically includes playing games of some kind. Games can be played before the food is served, after you've eaten, and later during the party.

Party games are a great way to break the ice, espeically if you've invited a new friend that doesn't know everyone like you do. Plan games that you like and games that offer a variety of skill levels so everybody can enjoy the fun. If things start getting a little ho hum, games are a great way to pick up the pace.

Playing Wii:

Check out the Wii party games you can play at your party.

If you have a Wii and will be playing team games, make sure you divide the teams equally in skill level so both teams have the same advantage. It wouldn't be fair to put all the best players on one team and the less skilled on the other team. Not everyone will end up thinking your party was all that great. Wii games are great entertainment for any party.

Xbox and Kinect:

No controllers to use, just hook up the Xbox and the game sensor and enjoy many hours of playing Kinect games.

I don't care what anyone says - the Xbox and Kinect is great fun for everyone of all ages. It's full of laughs and hours of fun. Just make sure you have enough room, you have to be at least 6 feet from the kinect for it work effectively. No remotes and multiple players can play at the same time. There is a kinect sports package, the kinect kart racing game, kinect dance central, kinect bowling and these are just a few.

Board Games:

A board game is a great way to liven up the party, especially if it starts getting to be a little ho hum. Board games offer fun and laughter for any occasion and everyone will enjoy playing. These types of games are a great way to interact with many personalities.

There are a lot of board games available and we have some selected for your convenience in the Party Games section of our website. Board games are relatively inexpensive and I always say with a board game, you can rarely go wrong.

There are a selection of classic board games, trivia games, word games, murder mystery games, picture games, scrabble, and many other classic and new party games.

If a game is new to you, don't shy away from it. They all offer a different way to have fun, using teamwork, hard thinking, and they can make a party great!

If you buy a game that you haven't played before, make sure you know how to play the game before the party. This way you avoid spending too much time trying to figure out how to play the game with your friends, this can break a party.

When you are playing games, be a good party host and make all your friends feel like they are just as good at the game as everyone else is.

Card Games:

Just like the board games you have many to select from when you are hosting a party. If you like fast paced games there is Pass the Bomb, which is fast, fun, and explosive. Curses is another fun game where one player places a curse on another player which creates some interesting behaviors throughout the game.

The ultimate goal for any party is to have a great time with your friends. One way to do that is to pick winning games you know they will have fun playing.

Outdoor Games:

Croquet is a favorite for outdoor games or good old game of tic tac toe bag toss. Depending on where you live playing Horseshoes might be an option. If you are having a pool party then games like water volleyball, and a good old cannonball competition can't hurt.

Party Prizes and Favors:

If it's in the budget and you're planning on playing a few games, get some prizes for the first place winners and second place if you can afford it. This is always a nice surprise for the winning participants. We have some selected websites to the left of this page for your convenience.
